In 2016, Justine moved back to Brooklyn, NY where a family emergency forced a revaluation of her priorities in life. What emerged from this tragic experience was a moment of clarity and a deep desire to combine her long-held love of scuba diving and her joy of practicing yoga. Yoga initially served as a way to better control her breathing while working in scientific scuba diving, but became an outlet for self-care during this emotional time.
Justine's work in the field of archaeology currently works in tandem with her journey on this new path forward in wellness, meditation, and spirituality. She has created a new yogic unity between the terrestrial and the submerged. She is the creator of SirenYoga™- the world's only fully breathable underwater yoga practice. In addition, she offers private at-home yoga instruction (body alignment flow, gentle flow, yin, restorative styles), kids and teens yoga, and group yoga events. Global seasonal retreats are in the works.
Justine is a body alignment-based 200hour Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance.
“Living in one the busiest cities in the world, you sometimes find yourself so caught up, you forget to breathe. Enter Justine Benanty. Yoga has been integral part of Justine's life and luckily for me she has decided to share her passion and wisdom with others. Justine's personal yoga class has opened up my eyes in seeing the power of balancing strength and relaxation. At the end of every class, you will feel re-energized and confident enough to take on the world. You will also notice that her techniques come in handy outside of her studio. If you are interested in taking a break from life and exercise your mind, body and soul, then I highly recommend you to meet Justine and let her teach you the wonders of yoga.” — William L.
"Justine is an amazing teacher! She tailor-makes your session to your needs whether it’s for rejuvenation, building strength, or just to clear your mind. Her personal workouts for people on-the-go and for home workouts are also very helpful! I’m a beginner in yoga, and I’ve learned so much from her. Yoga wasn’t a part of my regimen, but I’ve come to the conclusion that it should be. The way it make me feel, physically, emotionally and mentally, especially after my sessions with Justine, has made feel immensely better in all three facets." — Alex H.
